Revoke materials

Purpose

To be able to revoke cryptographic material (certificates and keys).

Before you begin

You need to:

• know which cryptographic material you want to revoke
• have requested new cryptographic material to replace the material that is being revoked

What you need to do in this step

1. On the connection portal, select the cryptographic material you want to revoke.
2. Select ‘revoke’ on the cryptographic material details page.
3. Provide details about the request. You need to:
   • provide a reason for the request
   • confirm if it is a security issue
   • if it is not a security issue, either provide a date for revocation or select ‘immediately’
4. Submit the request.

What happens next

PDP will review your request within 3 working days. You will be notified of the outcome by email.

If approved, the cryptographic material will be revoked on the requested date, or immediately if this was selected.

Request new cryptographic materials

Purpose

To be able to request new cryptographic material (certificates and keys).

Before you begin

Make sure you have the correct permissions on your device to download ZIP files.

What you need to do in this step

1. On the connection portal, navigate to the ‘Cryptographic material’ tab.
2. Click ‘Request new cryptographic materials’.
3. You will be presented with an information page about requesting new cryptographic materials. Read this page and click ‘continue’
4. Select which environment the cryptographic material is for and type of cryptographic materials you want to download. Click ‘Download’.
5. You will be redirected to PDP’s crypto generation service. This will initiate the download of the chosen cryptographic material as zip file.
6. You will be directed back to the connection portal.

If your download does not complete and you are directed to an error page, a ticket will be logged on your behalf. You do not need to do anything else. If you do not see an error page, you need to report this through the support hub.

Deploy crypto material

You must now deploy your crypto material to your endpoints. For more information, please read our guidance on PKI and crypto. How you deploy your crypto material will be determined by your own architecture.
