How to get a registration code for your vouching scheme
Guidance for organisations connecting directly to the pensions dashboards ecosystem and their vouching pension provider or scheme.
If you are a pension provider or scheme, your connection provider, such as an integrated service provider (ISP) or third-party administrator (TPA), will let you know if you are their ‘vouching scheme’.
To connect a vouching scheme, you will require a registration code.
Get a registration code from The Pensions Regulator (TPR)
The process you follow depends on how close the vouching scheme is to the 'connect by' date.
If the vouching scheme is more than 5 months before the ‘connect by’ date
If the vouching scheme is more than 5 months before the ‘connect by’ date
1. Identify the vouching scheme that you will connect.
- Contact them to confirm that they consent to be the vouching scheme.
- Ask them for their Pension Scheme Registry (PSR) number and inform them that TPR will send them a registration code.
2. Inform the Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP) who the vouching scheme will be, including their PSR number.
- PDP will notify TPR of the vouching scheme you connect.
- After preregistration checks are completed, PDP will inform TPR.
- TPR will generate the registration codes and send them to the scheme’s primary dashboard contact (for example, chair of trustees).
The pension scheme must send you a registration code so you can register the scheme.
3. When you create your primary business contact account and register your first scheme, you will need to enter the vouching scheme’s:
- regulating body (TPR)
- regulator number (PSR number)
- registration code
4. PDP will check the regulating body, regulator number and registration code against the information supplied by TPR.
5. If the codes match, you will be able to create additional users.
If you enter in the code incorrectly 3 times, all codes associated with the vouching scheme will be cancelled. If this happens, the vouching scheme will need to reapply for new codes.

Get a registration code from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)

- Contact them to confirm that they consent to be the vouching scheme.
- Ask them to request their registration codes from the FCA – they do this via an application form on the FCA’s website.
- The FCA will generate the registration code and send it to the vouching scheme.
The vouching scheme must send you a registration code so you can register them.
2. When you create your primary business contact account and register your first pension provider, you will need to enter the vouching scheme’s:
- regulating body (FCA)
- regulator number (FRN)
- registration code
3. PDP will check the regulating body, regulator number and registration code against the information supplied to PDP by the FCA.
Once you have registered the vouching scheme, you will be able to create additional users.
If you enter in the code incorrectly 3 times, all codes associated with the vouching scheme will be cancelled. If this happens, the vouching scheme will need to reapply for new codes.
