There are now 100 days to go until 31 October 2026 – the legal connection deadline for pension schemes and providers to connect to pensions dashboards.

I’m Oliver Morley, CEO of the Money and Pensions Service, and I want to mark this moment by reflecting on how far we’ve come together.

When we began this journey, connecting the entire pensions industry into a single, secure ecosystem felt like an enormous undertaking. Today, around 1,800 pension providers and schemes are connected, bringing 85% of all records in scope into dashboards.

Together, you’ve enabled more than 70 million workplace and personal pension records, plus tens of millions more through the State Pension, to flow into the ecosystem.

That’s an extraordinary collective effort from providers, schemes, administrators, and partners right across the industry.

As connection volumes have grown, we’ve been able to roll out our testing programme. For the first time, real people are testing dashboards with real data. This real‑world testing is invaluable. It’s helping schemes refine data quality and define operational processes that enable a positive end-to-end member experience, all before the MoneyHelper Pensions Dashboard becomes publicly available in the 2027–28 financial year.

The earlier providers and schemes connect, the sooner they can test their own assumptions in a live environment, and the better prepared they’ll be when dashboards go live.

Any scheme not connected by the deadline should expect to hear from their regulator – The Pensions Regulator or the FCA.

And connection isn’t the finish line; it’s a milestone. Dashboards need to be embedded into business-as-usual operations, and post-connection duties are a key part of that journey – and the legal responsibilities of trustees and scheme managers.

For guidance on connecting, and staying connected, visit the Pensions Dashboards Programme’s connection hub. Pension schemes should use The Pensions Regulator’s dashboards guidance, including checklists for before and after connection. And FCA-regulated pension providers can visit the FCA’s dedicated website for more information about their responsibilities.

Thank you for your continued commitment. Together, we’re building something that will make a real difference for millions of people.
