The Government has restated its commitment to delivering pensions dashboards in a written statement.
Government, regulators and industry join together for pensions dashboards event
- The Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) hosted a ‘town hall’ event on progress with pensions dashboards
- Representatives from the Government, regulators and industry discussed work towards connection and future plans
- Other topics included user testing and updates from regulators
As part of a shared approach between the Government and industry, the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) hosted an event to discuss progress and the future direction of pensions dashboards.
The ‘town hall’ event on 2 December 2024 saw representatives from pension providers and schemes, organisations connecting to dashboards, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and regulators meet to share ideas and learnings.
Led by the Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP), sessions explored the progress with connecting the 20-plus volunteer participants and preparations for wider industry connection due to begin as planned in April 2025. All volunteer participants will have been invited to start connection by mid-December 2024, with 2 having already completed integration testing.
MaPS also delivered an update on delivery of the MoneyHelper pensions dashboard and plans for user testing. The Pensions Regulator and the Financial Conduct Authority spoke about their approach, while industry representatives had the opportunity to ask questions of MaPS, DWP and regulators.
Oliver Morley, CEO of MaPS, who spoke at the event about how dashboards will help the organisation meet its goal of helping people make the most of their money, said:
“Our approach to making pensions dashboards a reality has always been a collaborative one, so bringing together so many organisations involved has really helped us to see the wide range of work going on. Since I joined MaPS earlier this year, the work towards a dashboards service has stepped up the pace. Everyone at this event was able to see and discuss our clear direction of travel – delivering dashboards that will enhance engagement with pensions.”
More information on the event, including slides, can be found on PDP’s website.
